Release Athens 2024 welcomes Beak> and Mount, on Wednesday July 17th<\/sup>, at Plateia Nerou. The group of Portishead\u2019s Geoff Barrow and the London-based group that has been at the forefront of the British underground for fifteen years, will join Massive Attack for one of the most exciting nights of the summer.<\/p>\n

Beak><\/strong> currently consists of Geoff Barrow from Portishead, Will Young, Robert Plant’s bassist, and Billy Fuller aka Moon Gangs. With influences ranging from Krautrock to experimental \/ electronic music, Beak> released their self-titled debut album in 2009, which was notable for its improvisational nature.<\/p>\n

Since then, they have recorded two more studio albums, scored the soundtrack for Tom Geen’s psychological drama \u201cCouple In A Hole\u201d and released a number of great singles including \u201cSex Music\u201d, \u201cThe Meader\u201d and most recently \u201cKosmik Musik\u201d, the music accompaniment to Joe Currie and Ben Wheatley’s sci-fi graphic novel.<\/p>\n

To this day, they have played hundreds of shows across Europe and America, earning a well-deserved following and a reputation as a great live band who bring something completely different to every show.<\/p>\n

Formed in London in 2008 by Dominic Maker and Kai Campos, Mount Kimbie <\/strong>have spent the last fifteen years crafting a vast catalogue of the most seminal and influential music to emerge from the capital’s vibrant music scene.<\/p>\n

From their debut \u201cCrooks & Lovers\u201d (2010), which topped over 30 Best Albums of the Decade lists (including Pitchfork, Mixmag, Resident Advisor and NME), to the release of \u201cThe Sunset Violent\u201d a few weeks ago, the band continued to evolve from one of the leading acts in British electronic music to one of the most innovative bands in modern indie.<\/p>\n

With long term collaborators, Andrea Balency-B\u00e9arn and Marc Pell, now full-time members of the group, Mount Kimbie come to Plateia Nerou to present their adventurous music and, together with Massive Attack and Beak>, give us one the most intriguing nights of the summer.<\/p>\n
