Release Athens 2026 <\/strong>welcomes Pantera<\/strong>, on Thursday July 9th<\/sup><\/strong>, at Plateia Nerou<\/strong>. The legendary groove metal pioneers from Texas will finally make their debut in Greece<\/strong> with an unforgettable show, putting an end to one of the biggest omissions in the history of heavy metal concerts in our country.<\/p>\n

PANTERA<\/strong> persists and perseveres as one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time. Selling tens of millions of records worldwide, earning four GRAMMY\u00ae Award nominations, and generating tens of billions of streams, the iconic lineup \u2014 Philip H. Anselmo [vocals], Dimebag Darrell [guitar], Rex Brown [bass], and Vinnie Paul [drums] \u2014 pioneered a groove-driven sound unlike anything that came before or after.<\/p>\n

Grinding on the local Texas circuit, the group broke through on their own terms with the multiplatinum Cowboys From Hell<\/em> in 1990. Two years later, Vulgar Display Of Power<\/em> changed metal and hard rock forever. It went multiplatinum, spawned generational classics such as \u201cWalk\u201d and \u201cThis Love,\u201d and eventually claimed a spot in the Top 10 of Rolling Stone\u2019s \u201cThe 100 Greatest Metal Albums Of All Time.\u201d<\/p>\n

1994\u2019s Platinum-certified Far Beyond Driven<\/em> bowed at #1 on the Billboard 200 and is renowned to this day as \u201cthe heaviest album to ever claim the chart\u2019s top spot.\u201d Getting more extreme once again, The Great Southern Trendkill<\/em> reached Gold status in 1996 and would retrospectively be hailed by Pitchfork as \u201cabout as thrilling as they come.\u201d The group notched their third consecutive Top 5 debut on the Billboard 200 with the Gold-certified Reinventing The Steel<\/em> during 2000.<\/p>\n

A period of dormancy followed, and the world tragically lost Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. Over the years, the quartet\u2019s music surged through culture, appearing everywhere from The Crow <\/em>and Donnie Darko<\/em> to Sonic The Hedgehog 2<\/em> and Academy\u00ae Award winner The Big Short<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In 2022, PANTERA<\/strong> stirred to life again with Anselmo and Brown alongside longtime friends and brothers-in-arms Zakk Wylde on guitar and Anthrax\u2019s Charlie Benante on drums. In triumphant fashion, the band has headlined festivals and sold out arenas across the globe. They also accompanied Metallica on the M72 World Tour for just shy of three years. Over the course of just four years, the band has brought their timeless anthems to over 4 million concert goers worldwide. PANTERA<\/strong> capped off 2025 with The Heaviest Tour of the Summer, celebrating their legacy and captivating a new generation of fans that\u2019s forever stronger than all.<\/p>\n
