Three highly anticipated shows took place yesterday at Plateia Nerou, featuring three bands we had not had the opportunity to see live before.
The evening opened with Overgrown, the emerging British group, who proved that they have already built a following in Greece, receiving an enthusiastic reception from the crowd that had gathered early at the venue to see them.
Next came Black Veil Brides, finally meeting their long-overdue appointment with their —numerous— local fans. The Americans were wrapping up their major tour across the US and Europe and delivered an enjoyable set. The energy of “Vindicate”, the singalongs during “Rebel Love Song” and “Wretched and Divine”, and of course the explosive finale with “In The End”, were among the night’s biggest highlights overall. It won’t be long before we get to see them again.
The headline slot belonged to Three Days Grace, who filled Plateia Nerou with fans eager to sing and shout along to every lyric of the songs that have established them as one of the powerhouses of alternative rock/metal. The Canadians, with Adam Gontier and Matt Walst sharing vocal duties, delivered a set featuring highlights from across their entire discography, with “Animal I Have Become”, “I Hate Everything About You”, “Never Too Late” and, of course, “Riot” closing the show, sparking a frenzy among fans who had waited many years to see them live.
