The sold-out night at Plateia Nerou yesterday confirmed why Pale Blue Eyes, Garbage and Moby were among the most highly anticipated line-ups of this summer’s edition of Release Athens.

The evening opened with Pale Blue Eyes, who delivered a showcase of their sound and confirmed the reputation that had preceded them: pristine melodies, addictive songs, and one of the most exciting new bands from the UK scene.

Garbage followed, true legends of the alternative scene who, for three decades now, have remained one of the most consistent and compelling live acts in the genre. Their set moved between more recent material and the major hits of the ’90s, when they first established themselves.

Finally, Moby took to the stage with a relentless set that had it all and quickly turned into a full-scale party. “Bodyrock”, “Go”, “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?”, “Disco Lies”, “Honey”, “Natural Blues” and “Porcelain” all stood out as defining moments, with one of the highlights being “Feeling So Real”, which closed the set, once again underlining his identity as a passionate raver at heart.
