Dear friends of Release Athens,

A few hours ago, we were informed by Morrissey’s representatives that, due to an injury sustained by a member of his band—which also led to the cancellation of his previously scheduled show in Serbia—his appearance at Release Athens 2025, on July 16, will unfortunately not be possible. This is an unforeseen event and entirely beyond our responsibility.

For ticket holders for this specific show, we are offering the following options:
1. Use your July 16 ticket to attend one of the following 4 festival days at no extra cost and with no further action required on your part:


July 11 – London Grammar, AURORA, Klangphonics
July 18 – Kylie Minogue & Loreen
July 19 – Gojira, While She Sleeps, Lacuna Coil
July 23 – Dream Theater, Mastodon, Haken

To clarify: no further steps are required to use your July 16 ticket for any of the above dates—just show and scan your existing ticket upon entry.
2. Attend the Beth Gibbons show at the Lycabettus Municipal Theater
You may use your ticket to attend Beth Gibbons’ performance by emailing [email protected] with the subject line “TICKET CHANGE – MORRISSEY.”
Please note: due to limited ticket availability for this show, a first come, first served policy will apply.
3. Request a full refund

If you prefer not to use either of the above alternatives, you are entitled to a 100% refund of your ticket. Refunds will be processed after the conclusion of the festival, starting July 23, and completed within 15 working days.

In any case, and with the goal of turning this unexpected situation into something positive, the show on Wednesday, July 16 will still take place with Supergrass and The Damned, with free general admission for all of you.
Attending this event does not affect your right to the following options:
– use your ticket for one of the 4 upcoming festival dates,
– attend the Beth Gibbons show,
– or request a full refund, if the ticket is not used at all.
*Invitations (not purchased tickets) for July 16th are only valid for this specific show.
