An impressive metal gathering came to a close yesterday at Plateia Nerou, featuring three powerful performances from three bands representing different generations of the genre.

Ashes of Ares opened the night, with Matt Barlow and his band receiving a warm reception from the crowd that had gathered early to enjoy both their own highlights and classic songs from the Iced Earth era, with “Vengeance Is Mine” standing out as one of the biggest moments of the night overall.

The stage was then taken by the “crusaders” of classic metal, the legendary Saxon, who delivered a relentless set packed with the timeless songs that have established them as one of the most important British metal bands of all time. The closing moments with “Crusader” and “Princess of the Night” were, as expected, met with a huge response from the crowd.

Next came the main act of the evening, the pioneers of European power metal, Helloween. With the iconic Keeper bringing the band’s story to life, their spectacular show became a true journey through time. The set included everything one could expect from a celebration of their 40-year career: classic and newer anthems, standout moments such as “Ride The Sky”, “Future World” and “I Want Out”, among others, and of course the ultimate climax with “Halloween”, performed in its full glory.
