The Offspring and Bad Religion are added to Release Athens 2026
Release Athens 2026 welcomes The Offspring and Bad Religion on Tuesday July 7th, at Plateia Nerou. Two American punk rock bands, pillars of the genre with a long history and enormous influence, are coming together for an electrifying night of non-stop intensity that is already shaping up to be one of the highlights of the summer.
More acts will be announced soon!
The Offspring are one of the most influential bands in the history of punk rock, leaving an indelible mark on the sound and aesthetic of the ’90s. Hailing from California, they transformed the raw energy of punk into a global phenomenon with songs combining explosiveness, humour, irony and social commentary.
With tens of millions of sales, countless chart hits and timeless anthems that continue to ignite music arenas and festivals, The Offspring have proven that punk can be both raw and mainstream, authentic and utterly timeless. The distinctive voice of Dexter Holland, the sharp riffs of Noodles, and the caustic lyrics created an instantly recognisable sound that has spoken to more than one generation.
In 2024, together with the band we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the iconic “Smash”, on a night that has already secured its place in the ten-year history of the Release Athens Festival. Now, they are returning to Plateia Nerou with a new album, the excellent “Supercharged”, and the same relentless desire to show us why punk is still alive and kicking.
Follow The Offspring:
Bad Religion is not only a great punk band, but also one of the most distinctive acts in the genre. They were one of the main pillars on which contemporary American punk philosophy was built, influencing countless bands – including, of course, The Offspring.
From the outset, they played a decisive role in shaping the sound of California, combining the raw energy of hardcore with melodic riffs and politically charged, sharp lyrics. With over 17 albums to their name and an ongoing presence on stage, they remain one of the world’s most powerful and reliable live bands, successfully retaining their loyal fanbase while continuing to inspire new generations of musicians and listeners.
The fact that Bad Religion and The Offspring are sharing the same stage on the same night is not just a major concert collaboration; it is also a meeting of two bands that have shaped contemporary American punk.
